SISTERS OF PERPETUAL ADORATION IN ANCHORAGE, AK
The founders of the Anchorage Monastery, Alaska
On May 15, 1985, seven Sisters arrived from Guadalajara, Mexico, at the request of Archbishop Francis Hurley (deceased), to this Archdiocese of Anchorage, Alaska.
They respond generously to the Lord’s call to be in this Archdiocese a ray of the Mercy of God, through the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Six of them have died and now enjoy the presence of God.
The New Community
In January 2013, after responding to the request for help, some Sisters from Mexico came to reinforce the Monastery and this can continue.
We are currently seven Sisters Professed and one Postulant from Alaska
We are the only Contemplative Life Monastery in Alaska, for which Our Lord has entrusted us with the great mission of being a support, through our prayer, dedication, sacrifice, generosity and joy, not only for our Archdiocesan Church, but for all of Alaska, and offer our lives to God for the salvation of all. We want to make known the great love that Jesus has for us in a special way in the Most Holy Eucharist.
